2-month check-up

Today is Halloween and I had my 2-month doctor visit, which included my 2-month shots! Ouch! Great Grandma picked mommy and I up and drove us to the doctors. It's so fun that Aunt Natalie works at the hospital because she met us there and came to my appointment also.

They did all my measurements today and I am growing so good! When I was born I was around the 5th percentile for my head, height and weight. I was 5 lbs, 5.3 oz and 16 inches long. Now I'm 22.5 inches and weigh 11 lbs! I'm in the 10th percentile for my head circumference and in the 30th percentile for my hiegth and weight! So have a cute little head and am getting cute and chubby! I'm getting little dimples in my chin and elbows and everyone love my chunky cheeks and thighs! Mommy also loves the little creases in my wrists!

Mommy also talked to the doctor about my gassy problem. I always have a bad tummy, especially in the morning. It even wakes me up sometimes because it hurts so much! Unfortunately, the doctor says there's not much mommy can do. Mommy might start a food log to see if anything she eats causes my gas, but momma doesn't think that's what it is. The doctor also says that tummy massages might help, especially in the bath. So now mommy is going to give me baths more often, yay!

I had to get 6 vaccines today, that's 3 different shots! Two in one leg and one in the other. Mommy has been worrying about my shots for a long time and was so sad for me. Great Grandma and Aunt Natalie held me during my shots and tried to make me feel better. I cried for a little bit but then I was fine! I stopped crying and was such a good boy during lunch and our drive home. I started to not feel very good a little later in the day, I'm crying and little fussy (which I never am!). Mommy can't tell if it's all the medicine from the vaccines or if my legs are sore from the shots. Mommy and Daddy gave me some Tylenol and hopes it makes me feel a little better. But what really makes me feel better is snuggling and some extra rocking - which Mommy doesn't mind at all!

The Doctor also gave a list of a few things a 2-4 month old should be doing and I'm doing almost all of them! I can:

  • Focus closely on faces, my eyes follow moving objects

  • Head bobs when help sitting (I can hold my head up really well already!)

  • Suck my fingers and my pacifier (I'm almost getting my thumb)

  • Smile, and repsond and enjoy people. I'm even just starting to giggle!

I'm just starting to:

  • Babble and make cooing sounds

  • Roll side to side

  • Reach for objects and even hold objects/toys briefly

I'm getting so grown-up. It's definitely bittersweet for my Mommy and the rest of my family. They love all the new thigs I do everyday and they think I'm just getting cuter and cuter but it also makes everyone a little sad! They miss how tiny I was and think I'm growing up too fast already. Time is sure going by quickly!
