I had my 9-month doctor check-up today but first I thought I'd update you on how I'm doing with the bottle. About 8 weeks ago mom took me to the doctor because she thought I had thrush. Since it was a same day appointment we couldn't see are regular doctor but we did get into a pediatrician, well mom took me in and told the doctor that she thought I had thrush but he said it was just "food residue." Well I never really loved my bottle but I started drinking even less and less and would fight it more and more until our trip to Rexburg and then I just refused my bottle completely. Mom then took me to our regular doctor when we got back in town and she told the doctor that she was worried about me not taking the bottle and not getting enough fluids and nutrition. Well, the first the the doctor said was that I had thrush! Can you believe it? This whole time mommy was right and that is why I wouldn't take my bottle. It took about a week of medicine until I started taking my bottle, and I'm still being a little bit of a stinker and only take my bottles before I go to sleep and usually only take about 4 oz at the most, but at least I'm drinking some! Mommy wishes the other doctor gave me medicine for thrush, that whole Rexburg trip would have been a lot less stressful!
Anyways, I just went to the doctor again for my 9-month well-check. My weight is 18 lbs 15.5 oz which is the 21st percentile and my height is 27.5 inches which is also 21%. My head circumference was 17.8 inches which is in the 47th percentile. Luckily, there were no shots today! The doctor gave mommy a list of different things I should be doing from 9-12 months and I'm right on track! I'm doing some of the things really well and just starting to do the others, I should definitely be doing them by 12 months! I'm starting to pull myself up on furniture and I love to stand up and play on things. I'm even starting to move along the furniture and turn myself around. I'm also still only crawling backwards but one of these days I'm going to figure out how to move forward. I am getting really good at turning myself in different directions and going from sitting to my hands and knees. I'm starting to copy adult movements and I wave bye-bye really good now. I'm also starting to feed myself finger foods, I still grab pieces of food with my whole fist sometimes but I'm starting to use my pincer grasp. I like to knock over block towers and find toys that mommy hides, like the beads she put in my play table, I can lift the lid and take them out all by myself. I like playing new games like "jumping' off the couch to mommy or peek-a-boo. Mommy just can't believe all the new things I'm learning to do!
