Independence Day 2012

Today was my first 4th of July! Can you believe this was my last first holiday? Next month I turn one and after that it will be my second Halloween, second Thanksgiving and so on. It's a good thing we did so much celebrating today, and thankfully the summer weather finally arrived! In the morning we went to the church flag raising ceremony. It was a very patriotic and a wonderful way to start our Independence Day celebration. Happy 236th birthday, America!

When I woke up from my morning nap, grandma, grandpa, mommy and aunt Natalie and I walked to the Bellevue Park for the Family Fourth festivities. It was fun to walk around and see all the people. It will be even more fun in a couple years when I'm old enough to do all the rides and activities they have. I'll also be old enough to stay up for the firework show, so we're already planning that grandpa and grandma will go early and stake out a good spot for watching fireworks. Before we left we went to the food boothes/tents and got some yummy fair treats. Mommy got ice cream and grandma got strawberry short cake and Natalie got an elephant ear. They were all delicious! Early this morning, grandpa went and parked the car near the park so we didn't have to walk all the way home. That was a great idea!

Great Grandpa and Nana came over for dinner and after my evening nap we played and played and played. We had such a fun day and of course we ended our 4th of July with sparklers!
