May 2015

We had SO much fun in May! The weather was beautiful and mommy and I took advantage of all the sunny, warm days. We had super fun Saturdays together, fun after-work dates, relaxing evenings at home, and grandpa took me fun places on our special Fridays together. I also had lots of fun at nana's house with swimming lessons and errands together, and I always have fun during my overnights at daddy's house.

We started May off with bouncy house night with Charlotte at the Bellevue Club. We tried to take pictures after but Charlotte and I would not cooperate!

One sunny Saturday, I rode my bike to Nana's house and spent awhile digging in Nana's garden for roly-poly potato bugs, one of my favorite things! I love digging and collecting bugs! We were so tired and hot afterward that we called grandma and grandpa for a ride home!

After work and school one Monday, mommy took me out to the Issaquah Highlands to a park that has really fun, steep slides. It was a lot of fun to check out but it was super windy so we didn't stay long! Of course, we stopped for chocolate chip frappuccinos on our way home!

The forecast was so nice that mommy and I planned a family trip to the river! We wanted to show grandma and grandpa the fun bridge and river spot we went to with daddy last month. The word spread about our river plans and we were so excited that Natalie, Charlotte, Henry, and Nana and Grandpa Dick and Aunt Julie and Mike all came, too! We had so much fun! It was super warm and sunny and we hiked from our usual spot all the way to the suspension bridge with Grandma, Uncle Sam and grandpa Dick. Charlotte and I had so much fun playing in the river! We can't wait to spend lots of summer mornings and the river!

We had a few fun campout-movie-popcorn nights! Sometimes we just get comfy blankets and snuggle for a movie, but sometimes we even "campout" all night and sleep in living room! I also played car racing video games with Uncle Sam. I love my hot wheels and fast cars!

Mommy came to pick me up one day from an overnight with daddy and we were both asleep on the couch for a nap! Daddy must have worn me out in the morning! Once I finally woke up, mommy took me to Chism Beach on our way home. It was super warm and sunny and we even stopped by Jimmy John's to bring a picnic dinner with us!

Grandpa sometimes spoils me with super fun Friday when he's home from work. One day earlier this month, he took me out to Snoqualmie Falls! We also got to stop by the train depot in Snoqualmie. We had fun checking out all the trains! I can't wait to go back for a train ride one day! This most recent Friday, grandpa took me to the zoo! Mommy has been wanting to take me since we have our membership but we've been so busy on the weekends and haven't had a chance to go during the week when mom's working. I was so excited for our fun day and the zoo, plus the weather was supposed to be super warm and sunny! It was really crowded with end-of-the-year field trips but grandpa and I had lots of fun anyways. I also got to ride the carousal first thing and had the entire carousal to myself! Grandpa even got a couple pictures on his phone! We saw the new tigers and I got to play at three of the different little playgrounds. I also got to pick out three crushed pennies! When Mommy got home that afternoon, we were out riding bikes! Even after our busy morning at the zoo! Grandpa is the best!

We had a really nice Memorial day weekend (separate blog post) and we ended May with some strawberry picking! Mommy and I went out Saturday morning to Harvold's Farm in Carnation and picked lots of strawberry's! We had so much fun together and there were so many ripe strawberries that it didn't take long at all to pick more than we needed! We drove home through Snoqualmie and stopped by the train depot. We got my crushed penny that we forgot to get the day we rode the train. We also hung around awhile to look at all the trains. We watched as the train loaded up with passengers and waved to everyone as they took off. That night, Siena and Francesca came over to be babysat and we had so much fun playing outside! We played in the backyard and ordered pizza for dinner. We also rode bike's and scooters and took turns in the wagon. A lot of neighbor friends came out o play for a little, too. When it was getting a little late, we came in for popcorn movie night and watched Big Hero 6. What a super fun day!

We had a fabulous month of May! I can't believe all the fun special things we crammed into a single month, especially with everyone still working and school days. I can't imagine all the wonderful things we'll be able to do this summer when mommy has time off work! We definitely don't take all this time together and memories for granted. We cherish every moment and all the fun things we do. And hopefully the early summer weather we've been having will stick around all summer long!

Memorial Day Weekend Train Ride

Mommy had a three day weekend because of memorial day and she wanted to do something really special with me on Saturday. We've been by the Snoqualmie Train Depot a couple times this spring and she knew how much I would love to go on a train ride. She looked up the train ride times and she saw that on holiday weekends they have a steam engine ride! Normally its just a diesel train. So she was so excited to take me. She kept it a secret until about an hour before we left and I was so surprised and so excited! I couldn't wait to go, I was so happy! Mommy and I had such a wonderful time together! We had so much fun waiting for the train and it was so special. We had lots of time together before and during our train ride to talk and be silly and snuggle. I really enjoyed being on the train! I loved giving our tickets to the conductor to punch and hearing the train whistle (it was so loud!) and hearing the steam engine chug along. For most of the ride, I hung my head out the window and just watched as everything went by. I was so happy! On our way home, we drove through North Bend and got lunch at Scott's Diary Freeze. Mommy got a hamburger and I hot a hotdog and we shared a yummy chocolate shake! MMM! We had such a fun and special day together! I always love special dates with mommy but when it includes a train ride, I don't think it can get any better!

We took the rest of the weekend easy and spent most of Sunday and Monday at home. We took time to remember why we really celebrate Memorial Day and I helped grandpa put out our little American flags around our yard.
