New Year's Update

It's about time I finally write something about New Years! We had a very low-key New Year's Eve and just hung out at home. Grandma and Mommy had the whole week after New Years off from work so we had a very lazy week and spent Sam's last few days at home just watching movies and I love Lucy in front of the fire. Mommy and Grandma ad their first day back at work on the 7th and that is the same day Natalie came down with the stomach flu. So she and Charlotte came to stay with us so we could help with the baby and so Natalie could sleep. Well as soon as Natalie was better both Uncle Henry and I came down with the stomach flu. Mommy called into work on Wednesday and stayed home with me because I threw up twice while she was getting ready for work. I ended up throwing up quite a few times in the morning but I stayed in a pretty good mood and would play but mostly I just liked rocking with mommy. Thursday morning I seemed to be feeling better and Daddy came over to watch me while mommy went to work. Even though I wasn't throwing up anymore, by Thursday night I was acting like I wasn't feeling very well and was cranky and had a hard time sleeping. Well I woke up at 2am and threw up twice! Once in mommy's bed! Grandma was the best and got up to help mommy clean everything and started a load of laundry. When I woke up Friday morning, I was definitely feeling better and I went over to Nana's and she gave me a bath and she even said I ate a pretty good breakfast. Mommy was very happy that I felt all better! Both grandpa and great grandpa ended up getting sick but luckily no one else ended up with the stomach bug!

So now that the holidays are over and everyone is felling better, we are all just getting back to the normal routine of work and such. Mommy hopes to do better with the blog and also hopes to get back into working out again! She was doing so good during November and right after Thanksgiving but then she got lazy! So here's to the New Year!

I thought I'd give a little New Years update on myself, I'm almost 17 months old, can you believe it?? Mommy wishes time would slow down, she just thinks I'm so cute and so much fun and she doesn't want me to grow up! Even though she loves seeing me learn new and do new things everyday, she just doesn't want me to grow up so fast. She wants me to be her baby and can't believe that I'm old enough to go to nursery in just over a month!

I'm becoming very verbal and learning a lot of new words! Some of them sound very similar but mommy knows the difference! I'm very good at using sign language to ask for "more" or to say "please." I sure have a big personality for a little boy! I'm very expressive and people say that I'm very enthusiastic. I have so many facial expressions and can be very dramatic sometimes, you should hear me say "Oh No!" I'm really good at letting mommy know what I like or want and what I don't like or don't want. Some of my favorite things are cars, trucks and planes, the moon, being outside, hats, mickey mouse, my wubbanubs, lights, water, and climbing! I love brushing my teeth and washing my hands. A couple of my newest "tricks" are curling my tongue and saying "shhh" with my finger over my mouth. I love figuring out how things work or how to do something myself. Right now I'm working on going up and down stairs and I'm determined to do it by myself! Momma says I'm a pretty smart boy and that I have a good memory. I pick up on new games quickly and I only need to see something once before I try to do it myself. Even though I'm becoming a little more whiny at home, mostly because I want to do something that someone won't let me do and I can be a little stubborn and persistent, I'm usually in a pretty good mood and have a good personality. I'm a happy, sweet, funny, silly, friendly boy. I love to say "hi" and smile at everyone and I am very good at giving kisses to people I love. I love my baby cousin Charlotte and am always excited to see her. I love to give her loves and pats and I can't wait until she gets bigger and we can play together. Right now I like playing peek-a-boo type games and I love to run and chase and dance. I like watching football and I even throw my arms up for "touchdown!" I like getting all  my toys out and having them all around even though I don't play with any of them for very long. I also love reading books and cuddling in my rocking chair.

Mommy loves me so much and is so excited for the new year! She can't wait for the weather to warm up so we can play outside and go to the zoo and do so many other fun things together this year! Happy New Year!!
