Birthday Update

Summer is ending and I just turned two so I thought I'd give a little update. Mommy was in denial that I was really turning two already. She was excited to celebrate my birthday but she just can't believe how fast the time passes! I can't either! Summer definitely went by too quickly. We had so much fun! I loved spending so much time with mommy and we did so many fun things! I also grew up a lot over the summer. I am talking so much and can say just about anything! I'm able to let you know just what I want or need and learn new words everyday. It's a good thing I turned two because I sure act like it! I know just what I want or don't want and I will let you know! I can be a stinker sometimes but I really am a good boy and rarely throw fits and I'm usually fairly reasonable and get over it quickly, unless it has to do with wanting Charlotte's binky! Binkies are still my most favorite thing. I'm super busy and love to run and jump and chase around the house. I also love to  play outside. I love to dig in rocks and run and play on the street. I mostly play with cars and trains at home. I also like to watch movies. Mommy loves that I am such a happy boy and that I'm friendly and polite. She thinks I have the best facial expressions and that I say the cutest things. I have a good sense of humor and love to laugh. I'm usually a good listener and say "Okay" when mommy says something. I help pick up my toys (usually I dump then right back out again but it's a start). I'll let you know whether "I do it" or "mommy/nana/etc do it." I'm good at saying my prayers and I like to go to nursery. I'm usually a great sleeper and sleep good in my crib. I'm still a stinky eater but oh well! I just don't like to eat a lot. And even though I'm a super busy boy, mommy loves that I'm still so sweet and snuggly and that I give the best hugs and kisses. I'll hug and kiss anything that I love. The moon, characters on TV, my cars, everything! I'm very affectionate and will give the sweetest love pats. Mommy loves to cuddle in the morning and she loves that I put my arm over her or pat her cheek. Or that I'll pat her hair and say "momma cute." She just can't get enough!! Daddy especially loves how I say my  name, I call myself "Dindin" and it's so cute! There are so many things momma never wants to forget!

The Sunday before my actual birthday, we celebrated with the family at Aunt Cindy's house. We were hoping for nice weather so we could play yard games, Uncle Mike had them all set up for us! Unfortunately, it was cool and kinda rainy but after dinner and presents and visiting together, we were able to spend a little time outside. We started the evening with yummy dinner, different salads and bread and appetizers. We also had some really yummy dessert. Grandpa even went out to West Seattle to a special bakery for a super yummy chocolate cake. Grandpa also made another vanilla cake with chocolate frosting. Yum! During and after dinner, I got to play a lot with Siena and we play cars and music downstairs and all sorts of fun and chasing. And then we opened presents! I got some really wonderful things from everybody and am so lucky have a big family who loves me so much! I got a nice race car from Uncle Henry and a Thomas the Train bucket. Aunt Julie and Mike gave me a really cool tool set with a drill that works! Alyssa and Miah gave me a Mack truck for my lightning cars and Aunt Cindy and Mike got me a neat Disney matching game! So fun! Nana and grandpa gave a hammering set and a little trampoline to have at their house when I come over to play! Grandma and Grandpa got me a super cool balance bike. I still need to get use to it a little more but mommy thinks once spring comes I'll have so much fun riding and gliding it on the street! After present we went to play badminton and bocce ball  for a little and then Uncle Mike came outside and found a from! We went to look at it on the driveway and the first thing I did was try to stomp on it! Thank goodness the frog hopped out of the way just in time! Everyone thought it was really funny but they are all glad I missed! I had such a wonderful birthday party with my family!!

On my actual birthday, which was n a Wednesday, mommy and I stayed home together for a lazy morning. It was her first real week back at work but she skipped work to celebrate my special day. When I first woke up, I saw my new train set mommy and Grandpa made for me! I love it! We spent the morning watching a movie and then we played with all my new toys and my train set. Around lunchtime, Daddy left work to visit for a little and we took a walk to the park. We had fun playing at the park and then we came home and played some more and when daddy left to go back to work, I took a little nap. When grandpa got home, momma ran to get cupcakes for after dinner. Nana and Great Grandpa came over for dinner and to eat yummy cupcakes! I ate an entire chocolate cupcake!! it was so yummy! I got a little sugar high and stayed up way too late! But that's okay because it was my birthday!

I went to the doctor for my two year old well-check and here are my stats: I'm 2' 10.25" tall (just over 34 inches) and that's in the 45th percentile. I'm 26 lbs 6 oz and that's in the 28th %. So I'm very average height and a little thin, but that's because I don't like to eat! But I'm very healthy! And I only had to get one shot but mommy and I have to go get flu shots in a few weeks :(
