I know it's early but Mommy is SO excited for summer! She can't stop thinking about it! Mommy is saving money and planning so many fun things, we can't wait! She'll be working a lot more in the spring (she's filling in while her director is on maternity leave) and she's a little sad because we won't have as much time together during the week but she knows it will let her save up for summertime! She'll be able to take more time off during the summer and it will all be worth it! Here is the start of our Summer Bucket List 2014. We are being a little ambitious. Some of the things we'll do more than once (like swimming, near-by beaches, etc) and a few things on the list will only happen depending on circumstances or we might have to choose between a couple different opportunities (if we do that so-and-so, we can't to this so-and-so). But we'll write down all the things we hope to do and see how much fun we can fit in (and afford!). Let us know if you have any suggestions! And keep checking back, we'll be adding more things as we think of them!
-Swimming with Charlotte at the Klahanie pools (and stopping by Dairy Queen on our way home!)
-Visit the neighborhood beaches (Chism, Enatai, Houghton beach/Carillon Point...)
-Alki Beach
-A ferry ride to Vashon Island (Daddy grew up going to Vashon all the time to visit his grandparents)
-A ferry ride to Bainbridge Island (They have a children's museum)
-Park days with friends
-A Mariner's game or two
-Boating with Grandpa Mikey (Didn't happen last year, we'll have to be persistent this time!)
-Possibly camping with friends (Mom knows it would be really fun to join her friends on their annual camp-out, but camping isn't her thing and sounds overwhelming to her, so we'll see!)
-Northwest Train Museum and train ride (Or the Mt. Rainier Scenic Train)
-S'mores! We didn't use our fire pit enough last summer!
-Go on hike (with great grandpa)
-Bike around Greenlake
-Trip to Whale Watch Beach on San Juan Island
-Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium
And the grand finale......... A trip to Disneyland for my 3rd birthday! There are a lot of details to work out but mommy has been saving since the start of this past school year and will do just about anything to make it possible. I won't be tall enough to ride everything but there will be so much I can do and it will definitely be worth it if we go! But if for some reason it doesn't work out, we're working on plan B. If we don't go to Disneyland, there are a couple other trips we might take instead. They may include:
-A train trip to Portland
-A trip to the Oregon Coast like last summer
-Convincing Grandpa Mikey to take us on an airplane ride
